Announcement from the Head of School

I am pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2016, Joe Iuliano has assumed the newly created role of Assistant Head of Academic Affairs. In order for Brimmer to continue to respond to the changing landscape in education, including the proliferation of digital teaching tools, I felt it necessary to create a new position where senior level focus could be brought to bear, including to guide and direct any necessary programmatic changes while fulfilling Brimmer’s Strategic Priorities and remaining true to the School’s mission. Mr. Iuliano is a great fit for this new role as he has over twenty-five years of teaching and administrative experience with a long-standing status as a senior administrator at Brimmer. He has served as the leader of both our Middle and Upper School divisions with particular attention paid to the quality of our programming and educational mission. Mr. Iuliano is joining me in providing educational leadership for the faculty so that the School will continue to ensure an optimal learning environment for our students. Mr. Iuliano oversees the Pre-K-12 academic program by working with the academic department chairs and division heads to develop, revise, and enhance the curriculum and assist in overseeing PreK-12 faculty evaluation and supervision as well as all aspects of the College Counseling Program. He will continue to teach and serve as an advisor in the Upper School.

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Joshua Neudel as our new Upper School Head.
Mr. Neudal held the position of Chair of Educational Innovation at Gann Academy. He has a has a B.A. in Chemistry from Boston University and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College Lynch School of Education. He developed and implemented Gann’s Strategic Vision for 21st Century Learning for curriculum and pedagogy in all departments. Having overseen Gann’s educational technology, Innovation Lab and Learning Commons, as well as Gann’s STEM initiatives, we believe Brimmer will benefit from both his experience and expertise. Mr. Neudel has also been the Associate Dean of Students, the Science Department Chair, and was president of the New England Preparatory School Women’s Soccer Association. Over the past eleven summers he has taught at Boston University College of Engineering UDesign as a robotics teacher.
