Brimmer welcomes Mr. Carl Rapisarda-Vallely as new Middle School Head

Dear Brimmer and May Families:

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Carl Rapisarda-Vallely as Brimmer’s next Middle School Head. After a remarkable seven years of proven leadership as the School’s Middle School Drama Director, humanities teacher, and Grade 8 class dean, the administrative team unanimously voted Carl as the best candidate for this position. This appointment came after a thorough search using Carney Sandoe and Associates as our placement agency. Having screened dozens of candidates via Skype and phone interviews, in March we brought three well-qualified and exceptional leaders to campus to interview for the position. At the end of the search process, the administrative team believed that Carl’s commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the stage, his understanding of and commitment to the creative process, and his collaborative leadership style made him the leading choice for the position. Carl holds a B.A. from Carthage College in Theater and English and an M.A. from Emerson College in Theater Education. Recently, he participated in the Global Leadership Summit to Shanghai, China; presented at the AATE National Conference in D.C.; and has taken several courses through Primary Source, our partner for Global Education. In June, he attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education program “Improving Schools: The Art of Leadership.”

I hope you will join us in welcoming Carl to this new position.

Sincerely,

Judith Guild
Head of School
