The Christopher Jones Lower School Library, located in McCoy Hall, serves Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students and faculty. The Lower School Library program focuses on fostering open-minded, diverse readers, as well as critical thinking and research skills. Library lessons connect to what the students are learning in the classroom and reinforce the Life Rules – Kindness, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. The Lower School Librarian collaborates with teachers for research instruction that is tailored specifically for classroom projects. Both print and online resources are utilized for research instruction. The Lower School Librarian also manages the Design Lab, located within the Christopher Jones Lower School Library.
The Lower School Library is staffed by a full time librarian,
Sarah Abrams, and several parent volunteers. Library hours are from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m, Monday — Friday. The Brimmer community is welcome to borrow materials during that time. Extended Day, in part, uses the library in the afternoon. If you have any questions about the library, please call 617-278-2430.
