Lower School Library

The Christopher Jones Library

The Christopher Jones Lower School Library, located in McCoy Hall, serves PK-Grade 5 students and faculty, and focuses on fostering open-minded, diverse readers as well as critical thinking and research skills. Library lessons connect to what the students are learning in the classroom and reinforce the Core Values—Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Honesty, and Equity. Our Lower School librarian collaborates with teachers on both print and online resources for research instruction that is tailored specifically for classroom projects. The librarian also manages the Design Lab located within the Lower School Library.

The Lower School Library is staffed by a full time librarian, Stephanie Golas, and several parent volunteers. Library hours are from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m, Monday — Friday. The Brimmer community is welcome to borrow materials during that time. Extended Day, in part, uses the library in the afternoon. If you have any questions about the library, please call 617-278-2430.
