As Director of Health Services, Beth believes that every interaction is a teachable moment. For Beth, access to accurate health information is a basic right and she prides herself on her openness to student’s needs. Beth is a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Brimmer in 2010, Beth worked at several psychiatric institutions involved in depression research, psychosomatic illness, eating disorders, addiction treatment, and child abuse. Beth was also school nurse at Framingham High School for seven years. Since 1992, she has co-owned a business with her husband and continues to oversee the financial operations of that company.
As a lifelong learner, Beth appreciates Brimmer’s dedication to professional development. In addition to her master’s and bachelor’s degrees, Beth holds certificates as a Sexuality Educator and in Youth Mental Health First Aid. Beth has also completed a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester.
Beth is also a member of the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) and the Massachusetts School Nurse Organization (MSNO).
Outside of work, Beth enjoys creative writing, listening to all genres of music, and attending live performances whenever possible. She is an active supporter of social service agencies in her community, particularly focused on homelessness and child welfare organizations.
