Science

The innate interest and curiosity children have in the world around them is fostered in our science program. Whether in the classroom, on a field trip, or in the Lower School Garden, the inquiry-based approach creates opportunities for discovery, observation, and investigation in biological, earth, and physical sciences. Students are encouraged to respect the natural world, to commit to environmental responsibility, and to ask, “How can I make a difference?” Emphasis is placed on applying the scientific method, as well as finding solutions to problems using the design process. As students explore, they have the opportunity to question, search for answers, and make connections between science and other areas of the curriculum.
