UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that Nicholas Correia was a final scholarship winner of the 2017 Kirby Perkins A Plus Scholarship Fund. The Kirby Perkins A Plus Scholarship Fund honors the late Kirby Perkins, a WCVB reporter who developed Channel 5's “A Plus” reports. Perkins died suddenly in 1997, and the A Plus scholarship is his legacy, helping dozens of the region's most deserving students pay for college. The Fund has given out more than $300,000 to date to over 100 students. Checks were presented at WCVB's headquarters in Needham to ten students from local area high schools to assist them in furthering their education.
