Welcome New Trustees

This fall, Brimmer and May welcomes three new members to its Board of Trustees. These current and alumni parents have been actively engaged in the School community for years. They are all excited to take on this important volunteer leadership role and serve the School.

Richard Mynahan P ‘19
Medfield, MA

Richard Mynahan is an experienced corporate banker and management consultant, and a founder of ClearView Healthcare Partners, a strategic consulting firm focused on healthcare and life sciences. He and his wife, Jen, are the parents of 11th grader, Abby and two other children who attend other schools. The Mynahans arrived at Brimmer two years ago when Abby started 9th grade and immediately joined the Annual Fund Leadership Team as volunteer callers and supporters. Jen and Rich were also supporters of the Campaign for Brimmer - Realizing the Vision and have been vocal in their belief in the impact of a Brimmer education. They can often be found on the sidelines of Varsity Girls’ Soccer and Varsity Girls’ Basketball.

As a co-founder of ClearView Healthcare Partners, Rich has had the opportunity to work with executives of leading life science firms, as well as many Boston-area biotech companies, helping firms both large and small with issues of growth and medical innovation. Rich’s role within his organization includes both client facing as well as company management responsibilities. On the client side, Rich works collaboratively with his clients to identify and participate in those segments of the life science market that continue to offer the strongest opportunity for innovation-driven growth. Internally, Rich is a member of the executive leadership team, oversees all of ClearView’s finances, and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. ClearView has been rated as one of the top boutique strategy-consulting firms in the U.S. for the past several years.

Beyond work and roaming the sidelines of soccer fields and basketball courts, Rich is also engaged in his community and church. While Jen coordinates the children’s liturgy for St. Edwards’s parish, Rich helps organize the church’s annual golf tournament, which both engages the community as well as provides a much needed source of funds for the church. Over the years, Rich has also coached sports teams for all three of his children and remains a coach for his second grade daughter. Rich received his B.A. from Holy Cross and his M.B.A. from Cornell University and remains involved as an alumnus of both institutions.

Rich will serve on the Finance Committee of the Board and has already been helpful in the work done over the summer to secure critical bond financing for Brimmer. Welcome to the Board of Trustees, Rich.

John Allen P ‘12
Sharon, MA

John Allen and his wife Betsy are parents to Brandon, a 2012 graduate of Brimmer and a 2016 graduate of Princeton University. The Allen family first stepped on campus when their son Brandon enrolled in 9th grade in 2008, and they have remained involved ever since.  John has been a very active participant in the Board of Visitors since 2010 and an advocate for Brimmer in the Greater Boston community.  He often credits Brandon’s success in Upper School and Princeton as having started with the Global Studies Diploma program— Brad was lucky to be in the first graduating class with access to that Signature Program option.

John is a Managing Partner with Allen Business Advisors, a boutique business intermediary that sells engineering and accounting companies with sales between one million and ten million dollars. Prior to running his own firm, John was a Vice President and Business Banker at Eastern Bank and an Assistant Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer at Bridgewater Savings Bank.

John holds a B.S. in Accounting and Management from Northeastern University. He is a graduate of Loan Officer’s Residence School at the University of New Hampshire, and he completed a formal Commercial Credit Training Program by Risk Management Associates and Exit and Succession Planning from Business Enterprise Institute.

In addition to John’s involvement at Brimmer as a Board of Visitor’s member, he was previously on the Board of Directors of the Newton Needham Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of his church.

The Board is eager to tap into John’s expertise in business planning and banking as we move into the next phase of strategic planning for Brimmer.
