K Celebrates Ethiopian New Year!

Kindergarten students celebrated the Ethiopian New Year on September 11, with special visit from Kindergarten mom Mahlet (Mahi) Gessese. Mrs. Gessese gave students a brief introduction the family’s background and culture and taught them about the Ethiopian New year. She prepared and shared with students some of Ethiopian national dishes, including Doro Wet (chicken stew), Injera (soft bread), Tibs (Ethiopian stir–fried beef), and a vegetable dish consisting of onion, garlic, ginger, carrots, potatoes, and shredded white cabbage. Students had a great time exploring the flavors of Ethiopia!
