Dr. Young Presents to Brimmer Staff

Dr. Kay Young, former Brimmer humanities teacher and current professor of English at the University of California Santa Barbara, gave an insightful and engaging presentation to faculty and staff, entitled "Empathy and Ethical Thinking and the Teaching of the Humanities." She stated, "Children are heroes in waiting. How, as teachers, do we help them to become themselves? And how does the study of the humanities help them to grow into their best selves?" Dr. Young's presentation was one of several sessions for faculty and staff that focused on Brimmer's year-long theme of Empathy and Ethical Thinking.
