Brimmer Faculty Receive Accolades

Upper School History and Journalism teacher David Cutler '02 recently had the opportunity to join a group of student news publications advisors from Massachusetts at the two-day Massachusetts Scholastic Press Association Conference at UMass-Amherst. “This is an amazing conference, where I have had the opportunity to learn from other advisers about what works in the student newsroom,” Cutler said. “No matter our school or school type, we all have something to learn from each other. This conference has been so rejuvenating.”

Cutler was also recently selected to present two workshops, Confronting Private School Struggles with Student Journalism and Teaching News Writing to Teach History Writing, at Columbia University's Scholastic Press Association Conference in March.

Middle and Upper School Art teacher Brent Ridge has artwork included in the Newton Open Studios 2019 Winter Juried Show at Newton City Hall. This art show is a curated selection of artists who have taken part in the citywide Newton Open Studios event in the past. The artwork was juried by Vladimir Zimakov, the Director of the Wedeman Art Gallery at Lasell College in Newton. The artwork will be on display until Feb 28.
