Brimmer Wins Big Over St. Andrews

The Gators traveled to Barrington, RI to take on St. Andrews for their first game of a three-game week. Another long bus ride proved to be no problem for the Gators as Hannah Ahearn 20’ found the back of the net one minute and seven seconds into the game. St. Andrews put pressure on the Gators defensive line and a miscommunication tied up the game at 1-1. Thankfully, Kaylee Little 23’ and Stephanie Cranmore 21’ both scored shortly after to put the Gators up 3-1. A St. Andrews hand ball in the box allowed for Elisabeth Fitzgerald 22’ to score her first goal of the game. About 25 minutes into the first half St. Andrews capitalized on a breakaway through the middle and put one just past goalkeeper Claire Masterson 20’. Hannah Ahearn 20’ and Elisabeth Fitzgerald 22’ would both score once more to end the half 6-2 in the Gators favor. The Gators maintained possession for most of the second half giving St. Andrews very few chances at goal. The scoring would continue for the Gators as Angeline Nur Dervisevic 21’ placed a beautifully unassisted goal in the bottom right corner. Elisabeth Fitzgerald 22’ would find the back of the net two more times bringing her tally to four goals for the day. Claire Masterson 20’ contributed to the Gator’s 9-2 win with four saves. The Gators move to 3-0 and will take on league rival Montrose at Orr Field on Wednesday September 25th.
