Gators get first win of the season

Gators started their season against Class C Concord Academy.  The Gators started the game with a bucket from Angeline Nur Dervisevic.  Angeline was aggressive the entire game on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor and ended the game with a team-high 18 points.  It was a low scoring first quarter and going into the second quarter, both teams were tied with 5 points apiece.  The Gators started to get into the rhythm of the game in the second quarter led by Kyleigh Little who had some great layups to put Brimmer up 19-9 going into the second half.  Lizzie Webster was tenacious on defense, stealing the ball and creating offensive scoring opportunities. The Gators came out in the second half looking even more aggressive, confident, and ready to go!  Marianne Alagos led the team in the third quarter, by aggressively attacking the basket, getting an and-one, and getting to the free-throw line.  The Gators turned their defensive stops into quick baskets by finding the open girl down the court.  Going into the fourth quarter the Gators were up 33-17.  During the fourth quarter, 7th grader Alyssa Aslam scored her first varsity points.  The Gators would finish the game with 38 points to Concord’s 24, receiving their first win of the season.  The Gators next game is Home on Tuesday, December 10th versus Covenant Christian Academy at 4:15 pm.
