Gators bounce back and pick up the win

The Gators bounced back from their disappointing loss the day before with a comfortable 3 - 1 victory over the Cambridge School of Weston. Brian Barrera scored just 33 seconds after the whistle, making it the fastest goal in team history, breaking Aaron Yemane’s previous mark of 42 seconds from 2013. The Gators had to wait half an hour before the could again add to their score although had numerous chances in the meantime. Sevak scored a great individual goal, dribbling through multiple defenders before rifling a top corner shot passed the diving keeper. Anson Mancebo, Ryan Hurst, and Oli Bagger all came close to scoring but just could not quite find the perfect finish. The Gators went up 3 - 0 midway through the second half, when the two first half goal scorers combined for the Gators final goal of the game. Brian won the ball in the middle of the CSW half and beat his man, he dribbled into space, waited for a defender to commit and sent a pass into the feet of Sevak, who turned beat a defender and finished from the middle of the box. With the game comfortably in hand the bench players took over and continued to have the better of the possession and goal scoring chances. Unfortunately, against the run of play CSW were able to score a goal and prevent the Gator’s defense earning a shutout victory.
