Nor'easter couldn't stop the Gators

In the midst of a wet and windy nor’easter, the Gators kept up their momentum for a playoff push with a comfortable 6 - 1 win over the Marie Philip School. The Gators took an early lead, when Sevak Glorikian scored on a one-time shot from a Brian Barrera corner kick. The Gators had to wait just under twenty minutes to score again, but then knocked in four quick goals in a six minute period. Sevak scored his second goal from a Lucas Williams assist, and Ryan Hurst scored his first goal at the varsity level, with the assist going to Anson Mancebo. Sevak completed his third hat-trick of the season with an unassisted goal, and Owen Williams scored his first goal of the season on one of his runs up from the heart of the defense. Unfortunately, the Gators were again not quite able to earn the defense a shut out victory as the Galloping Ghosts were able to score from a well hit free kick just outside the box. As in the previous game, the bench players were able to gain valuable game experience while playing the entire second half. Will Apen and Chris Myers combined to control the play in the middle of the field, Kai Wen made some excellent runs down the right wing and came close to scoring, and Lucas Williams scored the Gators’ final goal of the game about five minutes before the final whistle.
