Upper School Camp Trip

Joshua Neudel, Head of Upper School
Camp was a great success and helped students reconnect with classmates from years past and build new bonds. On Wednesday evening, the 12th grade reflected on their time at Brimmer, using words such as family, community, caring, diverse, and support to describe their Brimmer experience. They also spoke about their goals as leaders and shared the type of legacy they would like to leave behind.
We held grade-level activities that included miniature golf, a ropes course, tie-dyeing, and standup paddle boarding. The Student Senate planned a talent show for Thursday evening, and we concluded the evening with a campfire and s’mores. Friday morning included a student-run, camp-wide relay race.
We also built in time for our new Camp Family program. During this time, Upper Schoolers were divided into small “family groups” with one faculty member and students from each grade. Each family was challenged to complete as many tasks on a BINGO card as they could while at camp, and they also ate some meals together. The winning family groups will be treated to special prizes in the weeks to come!
Though much of the day was filled with activities and excitement, there were also stolen moments of calm, like the small group of students sitting quietly at the picnic tables and watching as the sun set over the lake.
As an inclusive private school community, Brimmer welcomes students who will increase the diversity of our school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, gender, gender identity and expression, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, or any other characteristic protected from discrimination under state or federal law, in the administration of our educational policies, admissions practices, financial aid decisions, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
