Alison Inches '80

A published author since 1994, Alison Inches '80 has written over 100 books for children, including a bestseller Go to Bed Fred! for Workman Publishing. She is also the author of three adult trade books: Jim Henson's Designs and Doodles: A Muppet Sketchbook; In the Kitchen With Miss Piggy; and The Candy Bar Cookbook. She is currently working on a chapter book series for girls under the name Wanda Coven as well as a chapter book series for boys. Alison edited children’s books at Simon & Schuster and Penguin Putnam Publishers. She later became senior writer and editorial director of publishing for The Jim Henson Company. Alison Inches McKowan '80 is a second generation Brimmer and May graduate, as her Mother Joannie Inches Cunningham '44, aunt Roberta Wurtz '42, and aunt Sally Hoagland '46 all graduated from the School as well.
