Lower School Drama

Drama and music classes in PK and K are a collaborative effort, helping to provide a foundation in both areas for the years ahead. Classes include storytelling, creating, improvising, and movement. In Grades 1-5, students explore sensory awareness, improvisation, characterization, and setting in weekly drama classes. Through theatre games and other activities, students work together and develop cooperative and collaborative skills. Third grade presents plays acted entirely in French, and fourth and fifth graders present a joint production. All students enjoy performing informally and formally in a sophisticated, state-of-the-art theatre. All Lower School Arts

Middle School Drama

Middle School students present a fall play and a spring musical each year, both open to any interested student by audition. In order to gain a full experience of theater arts, students learn the basics of lighting and staging as well as acting. Classes and productions make use of the Ruth Corkin Theatre, with seating for 300 and a professional computerized light and sound room. All Middle School Arts

Upper School Drama

A fall play, a winter musical, and student-directed plays in the spring are the heart of the Upper School program. These productions feature a large number of students and active participation in all aspects of the theater, from operating the light and sound boards to assisting with costumes. Upper School students may choose from such electives as Acting for the Stage, Improvisation, and Screenwriting. All Upper School Arts
