Varsity X-Country Earns 4th Consecutive MBIL Victory

Varsity Cross Country continues its winning streak at Gann Academy, earning its fourth consecutive MBIL victory. From the moment the starting pistol sounded, the Gators got off to an especially fast start, digging deep to earn and maintain front-of-the-pack positions. Lachlan Davidson ’17, who has had a breakout season, enjoyed another stellar performance and finished in 6th place out of 110 runners competing. Nate Friedman ’16 passed several top competitors on the final stretch, up a steep hill to take 11th. Fresh off injury, Benjamin Teixeira ’19 lead the Gators and with a furious kick finished 4th overall. Connor Reif ’19, Charles Li ’17 and Liam Conklin ’17 dug deep, outpacing most of the field, and ensuring that the Big Green Running Machine would earn six of the first thirteen positions. For his part, newcomer Dashaun Simon ’17 continues to impress by consistently shaving off serious race time. Richard O’Keefe ’20 had the most impressive race of his career, looking strong and determined across the finish, and Kate Eastwood ’16 solidified her standing as a top female competitor in the league, finishing 3rd among all girls.
