Gr. 6 STEAM Design Challenge

Our sixth-grade scientists have spent the past month learning about bridges, the forces that act upon them, and the work that goes into designing and creating them. Their study culminates in the Pasta Bridge STEAM Design Challenge, in which they work as teams of engineers to design a truss bridge to span a 25 cm “canyon.” From blueprints to budget and eventually construction, each team must create a bridge to withstand a stress test to determine the amount of mass it can hold. The goal is to build the strongest bridge possible with the least amount of materials. It was wonderful to have families join us for this signature Middle School Exhibition!
