After School Music Instructors

After School Music Program Director Alex Ostergard

Alex directs the middle and upper school bands at Brimmer. They are an accomplished educator, keyboardist, and composer, passionate about broadening students' musical horizons. Ostergard aims to encourage intellectual curiosity by exposing students to a broad range of musical styles and genres, including music from around the world. They believe in nurturing the whole learner, and that a robust music education will enrich every student, no matter their later academic or vocational path.

A Note on Selecting an Instructor for Your Child: Finding the right teacher-student fit is critical, and we do our best to match a student to one of our faculty members with whom we feel they will thrive. Our teachers are highly-qualified educators who offer a range of approaches to provide the best fit for each student.
