Varsity Girls Soccer @ CSW

The Varsity Girls Soccer team traveled to CSW on an extremely cold and windy afternoon. CSW came out strong scoring in the first four minutes of the game, taking advantage of Brimmer’s cold legs. Sophie Lapat ('18) battled hard on the outside to play a beautiful ball through to Shani Breiman ('18) that she placed low and in the corner. Two minutes later Kimberly Santos ('18) played a ball to Shani over the top, that Shani put past the goalkeeper. Shani closed out the half scoring one more unassisted goal putting the Gators up 3-1. After a quick halftime, the Gators came out strong in the second half. Sylvia Welch ('19) slotted the ball to Shani, who got past the CSW defense and was one on one with the goalkeeper. Shani finished the ball low to the corner and the Gators went up 4-1. CSW responded within the next minute on a long shot taken from 20 yards out putting it past Alexis Ifill ('17) who made an excellent attempt. Caiti Cullen ('19) and Abby Mynahan ('19) both played the ball to spilt the CSW defense passing to Shani, in scoring position, to net two more goals about two minutes apart. CSW would put one more away before Abby added another tally for Brimmer on a well placed penalty kick. Shani finished scoring on the day with one last breakaway goal. The Brimmer girls look forward to hosting either Gann or CSW on Monday October 31 at 3:30 at Orr Field.
