Structured Literacy Tutor K-5, Part-time (Fee-for-Service Position)
We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and experienced in-person tutor for the
2025-2026 school year. This individual will provide individualized support to students with diverse learning profiles in grades K-5. Successful candidates should have experience providing direct instruction in decoding, spelling, fluency, reading comprehension, writing and study skills. Ideally, candidates should also have training and experience working with students who have language-based learning disabilities, as well as experience teaching students with executive functioning vulnerabilities. The candidate needs to be able to work collaboratively with teachers and communicate effectively with parents about student needs and progress, under the guidance of the Director of Lower School Academic Services. A master’s degree in special education and/or certification in Orton-Gillingham (or Orton-Gillingham based approach) is required. In most cases, tutoring sessions would take place virtually after school (e.g., after 3 pm Mon-Thurs, after 2:15 pm on Friday), though there may be a possibility of scheduling some sessions within the school day. Preferred candidates will be able to work at least 3 consistent afternoon days per week.

Math Tutor, part-time (Fee-for-Service Position)
We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and experienced mathematics tutor for the
2025-2026 school year to provide individualized support to students with diverse learning profiles in grades K-5. All tutoring candidates should have a deep understanding of how to teach math, and use dynamic, hands-on strategies to make math concepts more accessible for struggling students. The current curriculum in place for this age range is Bridges. Candidates should ideally have training and experience working with students who have language-based learning disabilities, as well as experience teaching students with executive functioning vulnerabilities and attention deficits. Candidates need to be able to work collaboratively with teachers and communicate effectively with parents about student needs and progress, under the guidance of the LS Director of Academic Services. A degree in education or special education is preferred. For K-5, tutoring sessions would take place after school (e.g., after 3 pm Monday through Thursday, after 2:15 pm on Friday), though there may be a possibility of scheduling some sessions within the school day.

High School Humanities Tutor (Fee-for-Service Positions)
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and organized Humanities Tutor to support high school students in building essential academic skills in the humanities. The ideal candidate will be experienced in tutoring literature, history, and writing, with a strong emphasis on reading comprehension, critical analysis, and academic writing. This role also involves coaching students in executive functioning skills such as organization, planning, and time management, especially as they tackle long-term projects and assignments. Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach — Fall 2025Coaches are responsible for practice planning, player improvement, effective communication and game management. The season is scheduled to begin in Late August and run through late Early November.
Brimmer and May is a PK – 12 all gender day school that upholds high academic standards while implementing innovative ideas in a supportive and student-centered community. We develop lifelong learners who are informed, engaged, and ethical citizens and leaders in our diverse world.
Brimmer enrolls 400+ students each year, with an average class size of 12. We are minutes from Boston in Chestnut Hill with easy and convenient access to public transportation. The Green Line D train has a stop adjacent to campus
Coaches are responsible for practice planning, player improvement, effective communication and game management. Practices and games are scheduled Monday-Friday from 3:30-5:30 pm in the Upper School. Occasional Saturday practices, and game days may require an occasional later end time.
