Varsity 2 @ BUA

In their final regular season game of the season, the Gators traveled to the heart of Boston to take on Boston University Academy.  The Gators began the game in a new 1-2-2 zone defense, and were able to hold their opponents to only 16 first half points.  Unfortunately, the Gators offense also stalled for much of the half, with only two players able to score.  They entered halftime with a 1 point deficit.  The Gators found ways to drive to the basket and score layups.  While the Gators kept the game close, they found themselves down by a basket with under a minutes to go.  BUA made several clutch free-throws in the closing seconds of the game, and contest ended with another close loss for the Gators, 41 to 37.

Two players scored 31 of the team's 37 points.  Tal Breiman '21 led the team with 19 points, including 2 three pointers from way beyond the arc.  Geo Echebiri '18 added 12 points by driving past defenders and making several tough layups.  Both Gator players look to repeat their high scoring games in the first round of the league playoffs next week.
