Gators keep it Rolling

The Brimmer Gators hosted the Waring School for their first home game at Mt. Ida this season. After taking some time to adjust to the big turf field, Elisabeth Fitzgerald 22’ found the back of the net on an unassisted goal about ten minutes into the first half. The Waring defense did an excellent job of keeping the Gators out of scoring position and held the score 1-0 to the half.

A quick halftime and changing of a few positions, the Gators came out fired up. Four minutes into the second half Kaylee Little 23’ put one away for the Gators, off a beautiful ball played by Hannah Ahearn 20’, this would be Hannah Ahearn’s 20’ 10th assist of the season. Shortly after, Stephanie Cranmore 21’ blasted one past the Waring goalkeeper on a follow up shot from Elisabeth Fitzgerald 22’. The scoring would end with about five minutes left in the half when Kaylee Little 23’ placed a penalty kick in the low right corner. Outside midfielders, Molly McHugh 21’, Marianne Alagos 21’, and Angeline Nur Dervisevic 21’ battled on the outside for the Gators making excellent offensive and defensive plays. Claire Masterson 20’ contributed to the Gator’s 4-0 win with three saves, earning her third consecutive shutout of the season. The defensive line made up of Breanna Durand 20’, Hanna Spivak 20’, Iris Bishins 22’, Emma Guevara 23’ and Katarina Klacko 21’ played another solid 80 minutes of soccer for the Gators.

The Gators improve to 6-1 and hit the road again for an away game at the Landmark School on Monday, October 7th.
