Marlie Kass Advances in Shakespeare Competition

Bill Jacob, Creative Arts Department Chair
Please join me in congratulating Marlie Kass '23, the first ever Brimmer student to emerge as a semi-finalist in the English Speaking Union’s Regional Shakespeare competition!
Marlie will compete Feb. 8 from 1-3 pm at Mt. Ida College against the other 9 semi-finalists, for a chance to compete in the national competition, held in New York City. She will perform Helena’s monologue from A Midsummer Night’s Dream that begins “How happy some o’er other some can be” and Sonnet # 12 “When I do count the clock that tells the time.” She will also be assigned a cold reading from Shakespeare’s work and perform it with little or no preparation.
Wish her luck when you see her!
