End-of-Year Library Update

May has been busy in the Library as students complete author studies and other research projects.
Now that papers and projects are turned in, all books should be returned as well. Circulation shall cease for the remainder of the year. Remember--you have 24/7 to Sora, including access to all Summer Reading ebooks and audiobooks.
The Book Fair and Book Swap were successful. It was so nice to see our students all leave with a book in hand. Leftover books will go to Brimmer’s New Little Free Library, made by Brimmer’s Artist for Humanity Design Team, and other Little Free Libraries in Boston.
Leslie Kwan, author of A is for Aretha, spoke to Lower and Middle School students. She spoke about the power of music in activism as it can bring people together and provide a sense of belonging.
This summer, there will also be a Super Hero Short Story Contest for students in rising 7th and 8th Grades. Stories can be turned in through August 30; they should be 1-6 pages and include a title. Winners will get their choice of three superhero stories.
Thank you to all who helped in the library this year--parent volunteers and students, including Josephine, my library intern for the month, who helped make displays for Pride Month, Neurodiversity Month, new graphic novels by designing posters, recommending book orders, processing new books, checking-in, and shelving! Also, a thank you to the Learning Commons team--Ms. Bernanke, Mr. Szwartz, and the tutors--who help make the Library the place to be.
Additional Summer Reading Suggestions:
