BOYS' VARSITY II WIN VS. WALDORF, 60-36

Both teams started sluggishly and Brimmer and May struggled to get into the flow of their offense. Defensively, the Gators were able to create mismatches on the floor, causing turnovers which led to fast break
opportunities. The game went back and forth for much of the first half, though Brimmer and May was able to take the lead as the half progressed. Senior Michael Bortnick was able to swing the momentum fully in the direction of Brimmer
and May by hitting a 3-pointer with one second left which put the Gators up by 12 heading into intermission.
The second half saw the Gators go on a 9-0 run and put the game out of reach. Brimmer and May began to shoot the ball with more accuracy, run the floor with more consistency, and rotate properly on the defensive end of the floor which led to better rebounding and easy buckets on the offensive end.
Senior Benjamin Petersen scored 15 points 7 rebounds, senior Steven Mulloy scored 6 points 10 rebounds, senior Bielinsky Brea scored 6 points 8 rebounds, senior Michael Bortnick scored 12 points, and senior Matthew Lebowitz had 4 points, 6 steals and 5 assists. Back from an injury, eighth grader Quinn Iuliano made his Varsity II debut and hit his first 3-pointer of the season!
