B&M FALLS TO CAMBRIDGE FRIENDS, 7-2

The Gators faced a strong and physical Cambridge Friends School on Wednesday and struggled to keep up with their size and speed. However, the final score of 7-2 did not reflect the efforts and strides that the Brimmer and May team demonstrated. CFS scored four hard shot goals to the low and high corners of the goal. Brimmer was able to answer back and found a goal off the foot of Sophie Lapat ’18. CFS was able to find the net two more times in the half.

Despite the score, the Gators came out hard in the second half. CFS found the first goal of the half on a power shot from outside the goal box. Brimmer and May continued to hustle and found many connecting passes throughout the midfield. The Gators were able to net one more goal before the final whistle blew. The ball was cleared out from the defensive end on a goal kick and found its way up the field to the foot of Sophie yet again. She beat two defenders down the line and finished her shot on goal. Kudos to Haley Bayne ’17 for playing goal in the first half with nine solid saves and to Kaitlin Murphy ’17 for playing goal in the second half with three stellar saves.

Brimmer and May will travel across town to face Winsor next Wednesday, October 12, starting at 3:30 p.m.
