6th Graders Test Pasta Bridges

In the 6th grade science class, students learned about bridge design and the basic physics behind each type. They then constructed bridges out of different kinds of pasta: spaghetti, lasagna, penne, etc. The pasta bridges included simple spans, a variety of trusses and cantilevers, and suspension structures.

The students then had the opportunity to test the integrity of their bridges by adding weights to a bucket tied to their bridge.
