Gators come up short

The MS Basketball Girls Green team were excited to play at home at Mt. Ida, taking on Beaver Country Day. Brimmer started off the game strong by bringing high energy and playing tough defense. Alexa Dykman put Brimmer on the board right away, driving to the basket confidently and losing Beaver’s defense for a lay up. Although Brimmer had several good looks to score, attacking both downhill and from the mid-range, the ball just wouldn’t fall. Beaver’s full court press with three minutes left in the first half helped them hold onto a solid lead going into halftime. Brimmer started to score more effectively in the second half as the team slowly chipped away. Brimmer ran a perfectly executed inbounds play, with Coco Wang setting a well-timed, strong screen that gave Poli Tsiotos a wide open corner three. However, the defense lost intensity and Brimmer was unable to get stops, keeping Beaver in the game. The final score was 28-16.
