Gators come up short to BTA

Varsity Girls' lacrosse played at Boston Trinity on 4/21. It was a cold and blustery afternoon and the Gators were taken off guard by the speed, size, and strength of the Boston Trinity players in the first half. The score at the end of the first half was 10-1. At half-time the Gators Gators looked at second half as a brand new game and in their minds started over with a 0-0 score. The Gators came back in the second half with incredible energy, despite being low on players. The defense did exactly what was asked. They closed the lanes, double teamed, chased down the shots to regain possession, only allowed four shots on net, and they fought hard for ground balls. Leah Bell, Ayanna Jefferson, Grace Papas, Michelle Mejia Levy, and Sylvia Tejada held Boston Trinity to only one goal in the second half with their smart and fierce defense. Gator middies ran non-stop the entire game, fighting hard  on defense and quickly transitioning the ball up the field. The Brimmer team won the second half with a score of 3-1. Although they did not win the game, coming back to win the second half by taking instructions and implementing it into play is a win in any coaches book. Anna Lull and Sylvia Tejada fearlessly played goal. Goals were scored by Senior Iris Bishins, Junior Sophia Bruno (2), and 7th grader Hadley Reardon.
