Landmark too much for the Gators

Varsity Girls' lacrosse played Landmark at Orr Field on Friday 4/22. Landmark quickly set up their offense and ran some well orchestrated plays to score several goals early in the game. Gators figured out their plays and began shutting down their runners and marking up a bit tighter on defense. Despite the difference in size and strength, our 7th grade midfielders, Hadley Reardon and Lucie Shimomura did not back down and most times won the ground ball battles and went racing down the field setting up the offensive attack. 7th grader Alexa Dykeman transitioned her basketball skills to the lacrosse field and played great man-to-man defense. New to the game, Leah Bell played all three positions with amazing confidence. Goals were scored by Seniors, Iris Bishins and Leah Bell, and sophomore, Maggie Clifford. Three assists were made by Hadley Reardon.  Although Brimmer lost by quite a few goals, they learned a great deal by playing against girls who are more experienced and some who are  planning to play next year in college. Thank you to the Brimmer community who came out in full force to support the team!
