Lower School Physical Education

Instilling a Love of Health & Wellness

Our students are encouraged to see physical fitness and the practice of a healthy lifestyle as a goal for now and the future. With classes that meet three times a week in PK-Grade 5, we provide our students with a quality and age-appropriate PE program that fosters skills to build on. In the early grades, we develop locomotor skills through a variety of activities that emphasize movement concepts, manipulative skills, and small group games in a safe and non-competitive environment. Starting in Grade 3, our team and individual sports program helps students further develop their soccer, field hockey, track and field, football, volleyball, badminton, handball, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, and softball skills.

Our graduated approach allows students to progress to a more sophisticated level of play and to build athletic skills as they become more physically and emotionally mature.
By preparing students with the skills needed for a wide variety of sports and activities, we instill in them a love of physical activity that lasts a lifetime. Learn more about our commitment to Health and Wellness.
