Gr. 2 Brazil Fest

The Second Graders studied Brazil as the global component of their social studies curriculum. Students collaboratively used primary sources to research various topics about Brazil. Topics included culture, food and music, geography, Amazon Rainforest, and Carnaval. The students learned how to take notes in their own words, organize their notes into rough draft paragraphs, and then publish final drafts. The students also created visual components which accompanied their reports. Using the app Tellagami, the students recorded short presentations of their research as well. Second Grade families were invited into the classrooms to enjoy their children's hard work and taste some delicious Brazilian dishes!
