Ring Ceremony

The Brimmer and May Ring Ceremony began with the May School's inception in 1880 and continued with the merger of the Brimmer and the May Schools in 1939. Members of the 12th Grade class write short personal remarks about students in the 11th Grade class highlighting their experiences together and present them with a gift from the Brimmer and May Alumni office. A class ring is also presented to students who have ordered one.

This right of passage is a meaningful one for our students. It is a day where the 11th graders are brought closer to becoming Brimmer alumni— a stepping stone to coming of age in our community. The Ring Ceremony celebrates the close relationships across classes in the Upper School.
As an inclusive private school community, Brimmer welcomes students who will increase the diversity of our school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, gender, gender identity and expression, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, or any other characteristic protected from discrimination under state or federal law, in the administration of our educational policies, admissions practices, financial aid decisions, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
