BOYS' VARSITY II BASKETBALL TEAM BEATS UNDEFEATED LEARNING CENTER, 52-44

Right from the start, the Gators put forth a strong defense. The Learning Center took an early lead, but the Gators were patient and fought their way back to take the lead midway through the first half. Led by junior Stephen Mulloy's offensive output, the Gators put forth their best half of the season going into halftime up by 8 points. At the beginning of the second half, The Learning Center tried to fight it's way back, but the great defensive pressure and effort by the Gators stymied them at every turn. Though the Gators struggled to take care of the basketball (21 turnovers in the game), the Varsity II team remained strong on the court and never bent to the pressure. Brimmer and May won 52-44, Mulloy led all scorers with 14. Other strong offensive contributions came from senior Benjamin Petersen with 12 points, and senior Bielinsky Brea with 10 points.

The Gators return to action next Monday, January 25, against Greater Boston Academy.
