This fall, Brimmer and May welcomes two new members to its Board of Trustees. As parents actively engaged in the School community, they are well suited to the challenge of helping guide Brimmer and May into a dynamic future.
Suzzara Durocher
P ’18, ’21
Dedham, Massachusetts
Susie’s connection to Brimmer and May is extremely strong. She began her relationship with the School 17 years ago when she joined the faculty part-time as a coach and tutor and then became a full-time teacher in the Lower School. Over time, her involvement with Brimmer and May transitioned from faculty to parent and active volunteer. Susie and her husband John are the parents of Jack ’18 (6th) and Tristan ’21 (3rd).
Susie is very active in the School community and has devoted a great deal of time to Brimmer and May as a volunteer over the years. Most recently, she served for the past two years as Co-President of the Parents’ Association, strengthening the parent connection and community feeling at Brimmer and May. She has also served on the Annual Fund Committee, been a Class Representative and a Parent Liaison, and worked in a volunteer capacity with Admissions and Public Relations for the School.
Susie also serves on the board of The Frick Art & Historical Center in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and is a former trustee of the Dedham Historical Society.
Susie attended St. George's School. She holds a BA from Brown University and a M.Ed from Lesley University.
Howard Leeder
P’ 15, ’20
Natick, Massachusetts
Howard and his wife Carla are the parents of Elizabeth ’15 (9th) and Catherine ’20 (4th). Howard is also the President and CEO of Leeder Management Company, LLC based in Brookline. He is a third generation owner of this successful residential and commercial real estate management and acquisition company. He also is an investor and consultant for ProQuip USA in Marblehead. ProQuip is a U.S. start up of the European based high performance Golf Outerwear Company. Previously, Howard was the principal founder and owner of the golf boutique, Leeder Board Golf.
The Leeders are actively involved within the community and support many local non-profits. In addition to their long time support and volunteer involvement at Brimmer and May, Howard serves on the Rivers School Alumni Council, Chairs the Rivers Alumni Financial Aid Committee, and is also involved with Families First, Food and Allergy Anaphylaxis Network, Friends of Boston University Hockey, and the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, Jacksonville University Chapter.
Howard grew up in Weston and graduated from Dexter School, Rivers School, and Jacksonville University.
Ex-Officio and Faculty and Student Representatives
New ex-officio members include Cynthia Sibold, Peggy Stander, and Dulce Williams, Co-Chairs of the Parents’ Association and Mahlet Woldemariam ’95 and David Kazis ’02, Co-Presidents of the Alumni Association.
Faculty Representatives for the 2011-2012 School year are Janet Sweezey and Brimmer and May alumni Runeko Lovell ’03. Janet has taught third grade at Brimmer and May since 2003. She has a B.A. from Smith College and an M.Ed. from Lesley University. Runeko is the Director of Diversity, teaches Upper School science and humanities courses. He also coaches the Boys’ Thirds Soccer team and the Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team and is the Recreational Skiing and Snowboarding advisor. Runeko graduated from Boston College in 2007 with concentrations in Philosophy and Physics.
The Student Representatives are Kaleigh Marcotte '12 and Caroline Weber '13.
