Brimmer and May School enjoys a 135-year history of providing a transformative education where students are encouraged to strive for their personal best. Our story began with the founding of the May School in 1880, followed soon after by the establishment of the Brimmer School in 1887. These two venerable Boston schools merged in 1939, and in 1954 Brimmer and May moved to its current location, set on seven acres in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Today, we educate 385 students in grades Pre-K through 12 in accordance with our mission to uphold high academic standards while implementing innovative ideas. We develop lifelong learners who are informed, engaged, and ethical citizens and leaders in our diverse world.
