Greek Festival

The 6th grade recently held their annual Greek Festival. Having worked on their Ancient Greek projects for many weeks, they finally exhibited what they learned, while wearing togas, at the Greek Culture Research Exhibition. Students participated in Olympic Games on the field such as, sprints, "chariot" races, and the discus throw. Trustee Patrick Byrne, Ph. D. Philosophy Department, Boston College, gave a presentation on Athenian Democracy and Beliefs. Students had a lesson in Greek dancing, enjoyed a delicious Greek Banquet for lunch, and the gods, goddesses, and heroes gave dramatic presentations. At the end of the day, an awards ceremony was held for the Olympic winners.
