Gators Win In A Downpour

On a cold, rainy afternoon, the Gators headed over to Orr Field for a home game against Chapel Hill- Chauncy Hall. Six minutes into the first half Kaylee Little 23’ found the back of the net off a corner kick played by Hannah Ahearn 20’. Hannah Ahearn 20’ would then go off to score her own goal from a similar corner kick. Hannah Ahearn’s 20’ distribution would find the feet of Elisabeth Fitzgerald 22’ who put one away scoring her 13th goal of the season. Just before the half ended Kaylee Little 23’ found the back of the net on a shot from about 18 yards out. The Gators maintained possession in the second half. After coming back from injury, Marianne Alagos 21’ assisted Kaylee Little 23’ with about seven minutes left in the game. Breanna Durand 20’, Hanna Spivak 20’, Iris Bishins 22’, Emma Guevara 23’ and Katarina Klacko 21’ played excellent defense for Gators only allowing Chapel Hill- Chauncy Hall four shots on goal. Claire Masterson 20’ contributed to the Gator’s 5-0 win with four saves earning her second shutout of the season. The Gators improve to 5-1 and look forward to hosting another home game on Friday, October 4th, at UMASS- Mt. Ida Campus against Waring School.
