Gators get a win over previously undefeated Gain

The varsity boys soccer team handed Gann Academy their first loss of the season with a 1 - 0 win on a blustery day on the turf field at Mt. Ida. The two teams were quite evenly matched as they had been in the earlier game of the season, but this time the outcome favored the Gators. The only goal of the game was scored just moments before halftime. Again the goal came from Sevak Glorikian ’23, who finished from close range from a short pass inside the box from Brian Barrera ’22 who drew the defenders in to leave Sevak open for the shot. In the second half, Gann had the wind at their backs, which helped their fast attacks forward. However, Charlie Marconi ’20, playing only his second game in goal, was more than up to the challenge and made a couple of athletic saves. Brimmer’s defense was really tested in the final ten minutes when Gann threw everything at them, but they stood strong and kept the shut out to split the season series with Gann.
