Gators end this one in a draw

The varsity boys soccer team earned a tough 1 - 1 tie against a physical, Class C, Dexter team. The Gators had the best of the early going and took the lead in the first 10 minutes. The goal came about when, Olivier Khorasani ’20, standing in the center circle, volleyed from the goal kick and picked out Sevak Glorikian ’23 with a ball that landed right in his stride. Sevak controlled the ball perfectly, and seeing the goalkeeper off his line, he sent a cheeky little chip over  the keeper’s outstretched arms and into the goal for his ninth on the season. The Gators came close to adding to their lead with efforts from Brian Barrera ’22 and Tristan Durocher ’21, but the Dexter keeper was able to handle the shots. Most of the second half, was largely controlled by the Dexter team, who hit the crossbar and the post with shots before finally hitting the equalizer. The goal itself was a scrappy affair that bounced around inside the Brimmer eighteen, before it was finally bundled over the goal line to tie the game. The final ten minutes of the game saw good scoring opportunities for both teams, but neither could break the deadlock and the teams had to settle for a draw.
