Gators Lose on the Road to Worcester Academy

Gators start out their season against the Preseason AA number 2 ranked team in Worcester Academy. Gators got out to a good start paced by Gianni Thompson ’21 (17 Pts). Gianni was aggressive from the beginning and pushing the boundaries of his expanded game. He was able to get to the rim and draw fouls. Gators hung close during the first half thanks to timely shooting by Will Chun ’23 and Charlie Marconi ’20. Will was able to knock down a shot to end the 1st half that had the Gators down 7. Charlie went from stopping goals a few weeks ago to knocking down 3’s, which he did on his two attempts from the field. The second half started with Worcester flexing their muscle and building a 20-point lead. The Gators would not go down without a fight and dwindled the lead to 7. Kyrell Luc ’21 was instrumental in the comeback and finished the night the game high scorer with 29 pts. Unfortunately, that would be the closest the Gators would be all night and went down to Worcester Academy 71 to 58. Next game is Saturday against Preseason 8th place ranked Cheshire Academy with a quick turnaround for a Sunday game against Preseason 7th ranked Winchendon Academy.
