Rocky Hill Defending Champs too Much for Young Gators

On a beautiful fall day, the Gators drove down to East Greenwich, RI, to face reigning NEPSAC champs Rocky Hill. Whilst the final score of 6-0 in favor of the Mariners was quite lopsided, the Gators acquitted themselves well and played hard for the whole game. The Gators were able to string some good passes together and got into some good attacking positions. Lucas Williams, Oliver Baggett, and Anson Mancebo all had legitimate scoring opportunities, but none could find the net. At the end of the day, a lack of experience was probably the biggest difference between the teams. Rocky Hill’s senior heavy team were calm and composed in front of goal and marked our forwards tightly, whereas Brimmer’s young forwards seemed to rush their final shots, and Rocky Hill’s forwards were left unmarked for 3 of their goals.
