Coffee House 20th Anniversary

Circles 20: A Coffee House was everything Mr. Jacob and Mr. Barker-Hook hoped it would be. It was the largest audience turnout in years, with many alums and former faculty returning. There was an eclectic mix of poetry, music, dance, storytelling, filling the room with humor, warmth, and love. The program ran longer than coffee houses of the past, and it was wonderful to swing from Upper School performers to faculty to alumni performances with a few Middle School performers sprinkled in for flavor. Creative Arts Department Chair Bill Jacob says, "for many of us, Coffee House is one of our favorite events of the year, and this year’s celebration confirmed that feeling. It has everything there is to love about Brimmer: a sense of real community, of acceptance, and abundant creativity everywhere you looked. It was a heartwarming end to our first week back from Winter Break. It felt like coming home." Read Rachael Rosenberg's article, "Community Flocks to Circles 20," in The Gator.
