Art on Display

Elyse Seltzer, Supervisor of the PK-12 Library Program
The Anne C. Reenstierna Library Learning Commons has the privilege of temporarily housing a collection of art from Raven Makes Gallery in Sister Oregon, Decolonizing the Map through Indigenous Art: THE HOMELANDS COLLECTION.

Through classes with the librarians, students will have an opportunity to make connections to the libraries’ efforts to decolonize the Dewey decimal system while making interdisciplinary connections from what they have learned about classification, maps, and indigenous groups in the Americas.

I recommend making a special trip to the Library to see the art while it is here (before March)! To keep this beautiful loaned art safe, the library will be locked during its closed hours. The library is open during the school day from 7:50 am - 3:30 pm.

If you would like to learn more about the collection you can read this letter from the gallery owners.
