Sarah Conklin '12 Making Big Waves at Amherst College

Sarah Conklin '12, an Amherst College student, won four events for Amherst College at the 2014 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships. She swam a new pool record for the 50-yard Butterfly, and swam an NCAA qualifying time in the 100-yard Butterfly. Sarah also swam in the 200- and 400-yard Medley Relays helping her team to a new pool record and an NCAA qualifying time, respectively. Collegeswimming.com ranks Sarah 10th and 5th nationally in the 100- and 200-yard Butterfly, respectively. She helped the Women’s Swimming and Diving team earn second place in the Championships.  Update: Sarah finished 4th in the 2 fly and 5th in the 1 fly at NCAA (Nationals) helping Amherst to a 6th place team finish.
 
At last year’s 2013 NESCAC Championships, Sarah swept the 50-, 100- and 200-yard Butterfly events and was Amherst’s high point scorer. She was voted NESCAC Rookie of the Year and helped Amherst win the NESCAC Championship. At the 2013 NCAA Championships, Sarah finished 7th nationally in the 100-yard Butterfly, brought home two individual and two relay trophies, and helped Amherst finish 6th  nationally.
