As former head librarian at Sidwell Friends School, Megan brings a depth of experience to Brimmer. In addition to serving as the Library Director, she also teaches yoga to Middle and Upper School students as a winter season sport.
Megan is passionate about providing a library program and space that is continually changing to meet the needs of the community and keep pace with the changing nature of information. She is dedicated to preparing students for the challenges of college-level research and beyond, connecting students to books they love, and fostering the growth of students as users of information in the current and future world.
Megan finds a global approach to education to be a natural way to teach compassion, empathy, and the interconnectedness of our lives as humans and believes it is essential to each child finding his or her way.
Megan loves the community of her Brimmer colleagues, teachers, and parents that she gets to interact with every day. Helping her students and the faculty obtain the information and tools they need is hugely satisfying and enjoyable for her.
Megan is a member of the Boston Area Collaborative Library Association, Massachusetts Library System, Association of Independent School Librarians, and the American Library Association.
Outside of work, Megan can be found on the yoga mat, the meditation cushion, the couch with a good book, or on the floor playing with her two young daughters.
